Mocha Pound Cake

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
  • 2/3 cup shortening or 2/3 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 ounces chocolate, melted and cooled

Recipe

  • 1 sift together all dry ingredients.
  • 2 combine with wet ingredients and blend well.
  • 3 spread into a 8 inch baking pant and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 min until golden.
  • 4 let cool.
