Ingredients

- 1/3 cup flax seed
- 1 1/4 cups steel cut oats (irish)
- 2/3 cup dried apricot, coarsely chopped
- 2/3 cup dried apple, coarsely chopped
- 2/3 cup dried banana, chip
- 1/2 cup cracked wheat
- 1/2 cup uncooked regular grits
- 1/2 cup oat bran
- 1/3 cup wheat bran
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 13 1/2 cups water
Recipe
- 1 place flaxseed in a spice or coffee ginder; process until ground coarse.
- 2 in a large bowl, combine ground flaxseed, oats, and the next 8 ingredients; stir well to combine.
- 3 bring water to a rolling boil in a large saucepan.
- 4 add in cereal; cover and lower heat; simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5 uncover and cook 2 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly.
