Mocha Upside Down Cake

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate square
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup cold strong coffee

Recipe

  • 1 mix & sift together the first four ingredients.
  • 2 melt together the chocolate and butter, blend in the milk & vanilla.
  • 3 stir into dry ingredients and pour into 8" pan.
  • 4 combine sugars & cocoa, sprinkle over batter.
  • 5 pour coffee on top and bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
  • 6 serve hot from the oven, with vanilla soft ice cream!
