Mary's No Fuss Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • Servings: 18
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2/3 cup coffee, cold

Recipe

  • 1 mix together flour, cornstarch, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  • 2 make 3 wells in the dry ingredients.
  • 3 pour vanilla, vegetable oil, and vinegar in separate holes.
  • 4 pour cold water and coffee over all.
  • 5 whisk until smooth.
  • 6 pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan.
  • 7 bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 50 minutes.
  • 8 test center for doneness.
