Country Fried Ham With Red-eye Gravy

Ingredients

- 1/4 inch thick ham slices
- milk
- 1 cup strong black coffee
- pepper
Recipe
- 1 soak ham in milk overnight.
- 2 the next morning, wipe ham with paper towels.
- 3 put just enough ham fat into skillet to keep ham from sticking.
- 4 have skillet hot, not too hot.
- 5 slowly brown ham evenly on both sides.
- 6 when done, remove to hot platter.
- 7 for the gravy, add the coffee to ham drippings in skillet, sprinkle with a bit of pepper and let come to a boil.
