Grandma's Buttermilk Pancakes

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 egg yolks
- 3 1/3 cups buttermilk
- 6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (or any other flavouring)
- 6 egg whites
Recipe
- 1 stir first 5 ingredients together.
- 2 beat egg yolks, buttermilk,butter and vanilla together.
- 3 add to the dry ingredients.
- 4 fold egg whites in separate bowl until stiff but not dry.
- 5 fold into batter.
- 6 heat greased frying pan or griddle on medium-high until drops of water dance around on the surface.
- 7 spoon 1/4 cup pancakes on griddle.
- 8 cook until bubbles appear on surface and edges are slightly brown.
- 9 flip over, and cook until lightly browned.
- 10 enjoy, most wonderful on late sunday mornings over lots of laughter and hot coffee.
