Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 2 tablespoons gelatin powder (1/2 oz)
- 4 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/3 cup strong black italian coffee (espresso or strong coffee with a little instant added)
- 1/4 coffee liqueur
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- crystallized violets (optional, or some other lovely garnish)
Recipe
- 1 melt the gelatin in a bowl of water over a pan of simmering water.
- 2 remove from heat.
- 3 when cool and beginning to thicken, add sugar, coffee and liqueur.
- 4 whisk the cream until soft.
- 5 gradually add the coffee mixture to the cream.
- 6 continue whisking until the cream is thick and beginning to set.
- 7 pour into serving glasses and chill for 2-3 hours.
- 8 just before serving decorate each with a crystallized violet or some other garnish.
