Iced Texas Brownies

Ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup strong coffee
• 1/4 cup dark cocoa
• 1/2 cup milk
• 2 teaspoons lemon juice
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/4 cup milk
• 2 tablespoons dark cocoa
• 3 1/2 cups icing sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

• 1 brownies: combine flour& sugar in large mixing bowl.
• 2 melt butter& shortening in saucepan; add cocoa& coffee and heat to boiling.
• 3 pour boiling mixture over dry ingredients& mix well.
• 4 add remaining ingredients& mix well.
• 5 pour into greased 11 x 17 inch baking dish and bake in preheated 400f oven for 20 mins or until done.
• 6 allow to cool before icing.
• 7 icing: melt butter in saucepan.
• 8 add cocoa& milk and heat to boiling.
• 9 add icing sugar& vanilla; mix well& spread over brownies.
