Fresh Peach Cake

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large fresh peaches, peeled, sliced

Recipe

  • 1 sift together flour baking powder and salt.
  • 2 cut in the shortening.
  • 3 mix egg and milk together, then stir into flour mixture.
  • 4 mix well, and pour batter into a greased oblong pan.
  • 5 cover with peach slices.
  • 6 sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  • 7 bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.
