Individual Brownie Alaskas

Ingredients

- 2 brownies (3x3")
- 1/4 pint vanilla ice cream or 1/4 pint coffee ice cream or 1/4 pint peppermint ice cream
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Recipe
- 1 place brownies on ungreased baking sheet.
- 2 top each with a scoop or slice of ice cream; place in freezer while preparing meringue (ice cream must be very hard before covering with meringue).
- 3 heat oven to 450ºf.
- 4 beat egg until foamy, and beat in sugar gradually; continue beating until stiff and glossy (do not underbeat).
- 5 quickly spread meringue on ice cream and sides of brownies, being careful to seal meringue to baking sheet; bake until light brown (about 3 minutes).
- 6 place in freezer (up to 24 hours) or serve immediately.
