Frozen Chocolate Mousse

Total Time: 4 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup strong coffee, hot
  • 2 tablespoons rum or 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream

Recipe

  • 1 in a blender, combine chocolate chips and very hot coffee.
  • 2 blend until melted and smooth.
  • 3 add rum or brandy.
  • 4 add egg yolks and blend 30 seconds.
  • 5 beat whites to soft peaks. gradually add sugar, beating into stiff peaks.
  • 6 fold into chocolate mixture.
  • 7 whip cream and fold into chocolate mixture.
  • 8 pour in prepared dishes or paper baking cups set in muffin tins. freeze until firm.
