Melt-in-your-mouth Cherry-filled Coffeecake

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (19 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Recipe

  • 1 combine first 4 ingredients.
  • 2 add butter; cut in as for pie dough until crumbs form.
  • 3 add eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
  • 4 mix until smooth.
  • 5 spread 1/2 of batter into greased 9x13 pan.
  • 6 spread cherries on top.
  • 7 drop remaining batter on top.
  • 8 combine topping ingredients and sprinkle on top of batter.
  • 9 bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
  • 10 serve with cool whip, if desired.
